The Graduate School of the University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta held an orientation for new students for the odd semester of 2021/2022. New student orientation will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2021, in a blended manner, using strict Covid 19 health protocol.
This activity aims to introduce learning systems and methods that help students prepare for their post-graduate study period.
This year the UMS Graduate School opened 17 educational programs consisting of 3 doctoral programs (Doctorate in Legal Studies, Islamic Religious Education, and Education) and 14 master programs (Master in Legal Studies, Sharia Economic Law/Islamic Law, Islamic Education, Indonesian Language Education, English Education, Education Administration, Primary Education, Pharmacy, Management, Accounting, Psychology, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering).
The UMS Graduate School received 228 new students from 568 applicants consisting of 197 masters’ students and 31 new doctoral students.
The Chancellor of the University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta, Prof. Dr. Sofyan Anif, M.Si. advised students to pay attention to the science of amaliah and charity of science. He explained the science of amaliah means that whatever knowledge we have learned should be put into practice, so that we don’t only learn for the sake of learning. While charity of science means that all the deeds we do must be based on knowledge.
