UMS Sends Students to Europe under the Indonesian Student International Mobility Program

Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) has sent students to Europe via the Indonesian Student International Mobility Program in conjunction with the Indonesian Government International Student Mobility Awards scholarship scheme to leading universities abroad.

This scheme is managed centrally by the Directorate General of Higher Education (Ditjen Dikti), the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemdikbud), and is open to undergraduate students from all Indonesian universities under the Directorate General of Higher Education. Undergraduate students can spend a semester at an overseas partner university to study, experience the host country’s culture and undertake practical assignments to hone their skills.

Vice-Chancellor I of UMS for Academic, Research, Service, Publication, and Intellectual Property Rights Prof. Dr. Harun Joko Prayitno, M.Hum, explained that UMS students who participate in the Indonesian Student International Mobility Program receive tuition fees for 1 semester under the management of the Education Fund Management Institute (LPDP) while participating in the Merdeka Campus program.

UMS Psychology student Husain Ali As-Syafi’i will study for 1 semester at the University of Sussex, UK and Fina Nusa Puspa, a UMS Law student will take 1 full semester at the National University of Ireland. In addition to participating in the student mobility scheme at the two well-known universities abroad, both students will also develop talents related to the implementation of UMS cooperation with the two universities, both in the fields of research, publication and other strategic academic developments.
